Flag Block - Pieced or Paper Pieced

Update April 7, 2018: Thank you for your help by piecing blocks and being a part to make a quilt of valor. We received 70 blocks, which will be pieced into 2 lovely quilts.

Make a flag block

Use these instructions to construct a lovely flag block, courtesy of Craftsy. This block is 8 1/2 inches pieced and is 8 inches sewn into a quilt.
Make a paper-pieced flag block 

Print and use this template to paper piece a flag set on the diagonal. This block is 8 inches pieced and is 7 1/2 inches sewn into a quilt.

Mailing instructions:

If you are mailing one block, you may use a standard business size envelope with a standard first class stamp. It cannot be more than 1⁄4” thick. If mailing multiple blocks, use a large envelope. As of January 1 postage rates are 50 cents for the first ounce, 21 cents for each additional ounce. Remember that larger envelopes are additional.
